Overview: We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical individual to join our team as an Accounting Analyst. This role will primarily involve handling entry journals, utilizing Excel for data management and analysis (including v-lookup and pivot tables), participating in physical inventory related to assets and products, controlling for new asset addition, creating purchase orders (PO), registering journal entries, and maintaining electronic files related to federal and state accounts. While a degree is not mandatory, candidates with coursework or a degree in accounting will be given preference. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop their skills in accounting within a dynamic work environment.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date entry journals for financial transactions.
- Utilize Excel, including advanced functions such as v-lookup and pivot tables, to organize, analyze, and present financial data effectively.
- Assist in conducting physical inventory checks for assets and products.
- Control for new asset additions, ensuring proper documentation and recording.
- Create purchase orders (PO) as necessary for procurement processes.
- Register journal entries accurately and in a timely manner.
- Collaborate with the accounting team to ensure compliance with financial regulations and procedures.
- Maintain electronic files related to federal and state accounts, ensuring accuracy and accessibility.
- Support in the preparation of financial reports and statements as needed.
- Perform basic accounting tasks including reconciliations and expense tracking.
Qualifications
- Strong proficiency in Excel, including v-lookup and pivot tables, and willingness to learn new tools and software.
- Basic understanding of accounting principles and practices.
